Never played Magic before? This is exactly where to start. Magic Academy: Learn to Play is a free beginner night where we walk you through the game from scratch — no cards, no experience, no prep needed. We'll kick things off with an intro video covering the basics, then pair everyone up for casual games using Welcome Decks we provide. These are 40-card, single-color decks built specifically for new players, and they're yours to keep at the end of the night. Each deck also has a reward insert inside — redeem it in-store for a Strixhaven bumper sticker or three Secrets of Strixhaven packs on MTG Arena. You'll need a free Wizards Account to keep your deck and claim your reward — we'll help you set one up when you arrive. Free to play. 10-player cap. Register online or in-store.
