The homepage is a single madlib sentence — change any underlined word to refilter the feed. Three view toggles let you switch between list, calendar, and map without losing your filter.

1. •Click All MTGto filter to a single format (Commander, Modern, Pioneer, …). The same dropdown has anRCQs onlytoggle at the bottom that narrows the feed to Regional Championship Qualifiers — it stacks with any format you pick (e.g. “Modern RCQs only”).
2. •Click the radius number to set the search distance — presets go from 1 mile up to 100 miles, plus a free-form custom value (up to 500) for the rest of the country.
3. •Click the location chip to change your center — type a city, postcode, or address. Geocoding happens server-side.
4. •Use the view-toggle on the right to swap between list, calendar, and map. Your filter persists across views.
5. •Events that are happening right now glow with an emerald “live” chip and a soft shimmer across the row — easy to scan for “what’s going on right now” when you walk into a store.
6. •Use the date input at the bottom of the feed to jump to a specific day.

Every venue we know about has a public page at /venue/[slug] listing all of its upcoming events. Useful for sharing one URL with a group, or bookmarking your local store.

1. •Click any event’s venue line in the feed to jump to the venue’s page.
2. •On the venue page, use the Subscribebutton to get just that venue’s events as a calendar feed.
3. •Share the URL — no sign-in is needed to view a venue page.

Tap the star on any event card to save it to your account. RSVP-enabled events also show going / maybe / waitlist controls on the detail page.

1. •Sign in with email + password, Google, Discord, or a magic link.
2. •Tap the on any event card to save it — saved events show up under Saved events on your account dashboard.
3. •On RSVP-enabled events, click Going orMaybe. If the event is at capacity you’ll be added to the waitlist; you’re auto-promoted when a spot opens up.
4. •You’ll get a banner on the event page when you’re promoted off the waitlist — no email required.

A subscription is a saved filter — format, distance, location, timeframe — that you can have delivered however you like: as a live calendar feed, an email digest, or a Discord auto-post. Set one up from the Subscribe button under the filter bar; manage them all (and their delivery channels) under Account → Subscriptions.

1. •Set the filter you want (format / radius / location / time window). The RCQ-only toggle inside the format dropdown carries through too.
2. •Click Subscribe under the filter bar to save it as a subscription.
3. •Under Add to calendar, pick your provider:
   • Add to Google Calendar — opens Google’s “subscribe to this calendar” dialog in a new tab.
   • Add to Apple Calendar — triggers Calendar.app’s subscription sheet on macOS/iOS. Won’t do anything on other devices — use Google or Outlook instead.
   • Add to Outlook — opens Outlook Web’s add-by-URL flow. Works for outlook.com and Microsoft 365 accounts.
4. •Under iCal feed, the raw feed is also available:
   • Copy URL — the https:// ICS feed URL, paste into any calendar that supports remote feeds.
   • Download .ics — one-time snapshot, won’t auto-update.
5. •Prefer email? Open the subscription under Account → Subscriptions and turn on an email digest— weekly or daily, at a time you choose. You can also get a reminder before any event you’ve saved.
6. •Everything lives in one place: each card under Account → Subscriptions shows that filter’s calendar feed, email digests, and Discord auto-posts together — toggle or remove any delivery channel there. Feeds refresh automatically, so new matching events just show up.

Run a store or host a pod? Create events directly from your account. Store-listed organizers go live immediately; everyone else queues for a quick admin review.

1. •Create an event— fill in title, format, date, time, and venue. Address geocodes automatically so it lands on the map.
2. •Optional: set a capacity to enable RSVP with auto-waitlist; add an event image; mark the event private with an invite-only link.
3. •From your My eventstab, you can edit, cancel, or hard-delete the event. Edits and cancels propagate to any Discord scheduled event you’ve linked.
4. •On the event’s edit page, use the Discord eventspanel at the bottom to push the event into a Discord server’s native Events tab (per-event, host-only).

The PlayIRL bot is the foundation for every Discord integration: digest posts, scheduled events, and slash commands all need it installed first. Inviting only takes 30 seconds — no recurring permissions to renew.

1. •Visit /bot and click Add to Discord.
2. •Pick a server from the dropdown (you must have Manage Server in the target server).
3. •Approve the requested permissions: VIEW_CHANNEL,SEND_MESSAGES, EMBED_LINKS,READ_MESSAGE_HISTORY, and MANAGE_EVENTS. The last one is what lets the bot create scheduled events; if you installed before May 2026, re-invite to grant it.
4. •Try /playirl help in any channel to confirm the bot is reachable. The full slash-command reference is on the bot page.

Set up a recurring digest (weekly or daily) or per-event reminders that post into one of your server's channels. Filters control what lands — by venue, format, source, or radius.

1. •Make sure the bot is installed in your server first (see Install the Discord bot).
2. •A channel auto-post is a delivery channel on a subscription. Under Account → Subscriptions, open a subscription (or create one) and add a Discord auto-post.
3. •Pick the server & channel. Only servers where you have Manage Server AND the bot is present show up.
4. •Choose a cadence: Weekly digest, Daily digest, or Per-event reminder (fires at a configurable lead time before each event).
5. •The post inherits the subscription’s filter (venue, format, location, radius) — just set the time-of-day. The preview panel shows exactly what will land.
6. •Use the per-card Send now button to fire one post right now without waiting for the next scheduled tick.
7. •Prefer to stay in Discord? Run /playirl today or /playirl week, then click 🔁 Subscribe under the results to spin up a weekly or daily digest without the web form. Manage any post later with the ⚙️ Manage button on it or /playirl manage (pause, re-enable, or jump to the web editor).

Push events into a Discord server's native Events tab as guild scheduled events — distinct from channel messages. Two flavors: subscribe (auto-add new matching events forever) or one-shot (push the current matches once).

1. •Click Subscribe under the filter bar on the homepage (or any venue page) and pick Add to a server’s Events tab.
2. •Pick the server. The bot must already be installed there with the MANAGE_EVENTSpermission — if not, you’ll get a clear “ask an admin to re-invite” error.
3. •Set the filter (venue, format, near, radius) and how many days ahead to look.
4. •Choose between:
   • Subscribe — the cron keeps pushing new matching events as they land. Edits and cancels auto-sync to Discord.
   • One-shot — push the currently-matching events into the Events tab once, then stop. No ongoing sync.
5. •Manage existing subs from the Discord section under Sync to the Events tab— toggle on/off or delete (already-posted events stay in Discord; only new ones stop).

Connect a Discord server as an event source and the bot will pull matching messages out of designated channels into PlayIRL. Useful for trading events with sister communities.

1. •Go to the Discord section of your account, under Import from Discord.
2. •Add the bot to your server (same install as above) and configure which channel(s) it should watch.
3. •Events posted in those channels flow into your PlayIRL feed automatically. Source attribution stays visible on the event card so people know where it came from.
